The Shamrock approach to education and trait enhancement

Shamrock International School is not just a campus for education, but a place that instills certain values that will go on to build a wholesome personality of a child. As a system, we shall focus on instilling a set of traits and values in every Shamrockian.

DISCIPLINE

  • This trait is about making a certain positive behaviour in one's own personality. It’s about displaying a certain behaviour that reflects self-persuasion.

COMPASSION

  • Looking at the world from a perspective of understanding, empathy and care is what matters. An individual needs to be able to see the world from various perspectives.

INNOVATION

  • This focuses on the child’s mind, thinking and the calibre to think outside the borders set by a task. It’s about giving conventional approach an un-thought-of solution.

TOLERANCE

  • Being open and welcoming to every kind of personality, culture, tradition, is what we teach about. Every child needs to be tolerant and patient about the environment.

THINKING

  • Being somebody who can analyse, see through a moment or a problem, or applying out-of-the box solutions is what makes a thinker.

SELF-AWARENESS

  • It’s the ability to discover and leverage one’s strengths, abilities and weaknesses. This trait helps the individual tap into one’s potential.

INTEGRITY

  • There are values that make an individual well accepted and these include honesty, truthfulness, veracity and moral principles.

CONSERVATION

  • It’s a value that instills in the child a sense of caring, concern and activity towards the environment, the nature and the surroundings he or she lives in.

ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Being given a task to handle is not enough. What counts is how one has taken the task and completes it with responsibility for its outcome and end.

INDEPENDENCE

  • It’s about having the ability to go about a task or purpose, without any dependence. It’s about applying own thought and taking decisions.

EXPLORATION

  • This trait is all finding out about the unknown, whether at work or in life. It’s the ability to be adventurous and the curiosity for what’s ahead.

CURIOSITY

  • One should always be open and eager to learn, know and ingrain as much knowledge as possible. This trait goes on to build a knowledgeable and successful individual.

STABILITY

  • It’s about having an unwavering mind, or a mind that keeps one focused on a task, purpose or a work that has been entrusted, and staying put with it till done.

EXPRESSION

  • This trait is all about understanding and conveying the idea or information creatively, and in a way that is clearly communicated.

WILLINGNESS

  • Instilling a nature where the child is ready to take initiative that pushes from self-action. It’s about being the first-mover in any opportunity.
